Is active woodworm dangerous?
Active woodworm can significantly weaken structural timbers over time, making floors and roof structures unsafe. The larvae bore through the wood for several years before emerging as adult beetles. Early treatment prevents structural damage.
How do I know if woodworm is still active?
Fresh frass (dust) around exit holes, or new holes with clean, pale wood visible inside, indicate active infestation. Old holes with darkened interiors may be from long-dead beetles — our survey will confirm whether treatment is needed.
Do you need to clear the property for woodworm treatment?
The insecticide spray we use is low-toxicity and the property can be re-occupied within a few hours. We recommend ventilating treated areas for a few hours after application.
